Seed of Annihilation
Zone type: Party Hunting Area
Recommended level: 85

The Seed of Annihilation is an enormous, parasitic creature that absorbs bio-energy by burying its roots into the ground. At the center of this organism is Istina—the mother creator. She has a symbiotic relationship with the land, and uses energy she pulls from the ground to create the creatures that inhabit the Seed. But she is no benevolent mother; she forces these creatures to fight each other for survival. This challenging and awe-inspiring area can be reached by flying or by airship from the Keucereus Alliance Base, located far to the south.
  • The Seed of Annihilation is split into three areas: Bistakon, Reptilikon, and Kokracon. Players may hunt in these areas at all times, regardless of the Seed’s status.
  • Each area has its own Raid Boss. They appear are certain times, or can be prompted to appear by continuous hunting in their area.
    • Bistakon: Taklacan
    • Reptilikon: Torumba
    • Cokrakon: Dopagen
  • Each of these areas will also bestow a buff, which will allow players to inflict further damage on the local monsters, depending on their class type.
    • The buffs are: Efficacy of Strength (Benefits Melee classes), Efficacy of Agility (Benefits Archer classes), and Efficacy of Wisdom (Benefits Mage classes).
    • These buffs will randomly change at 1 p.m. CST every Monday. Thus, if Bistakon bestows the Efficacy of Strength buff one week, it will bestow a different buff the following week, and Efficacy of Strength will instead be available in one of the other two areas.
  • Sealed Vesper materials can be obtained in the Seed of Annihilation.
  • The new Maguen Pet can only be obtained inside the Seed of Annihilation. Speak to NPC Nemo for more information. Nemo is in front of the airship dock controller, just outside of the Seed.
  • Maguen Plasma Buffs:
    • Speak to NPC Nemo to receive the Maguen Plasma Collection device. When a monster is killed in the Seed of Annihilation, there is a random chance that a Wild Maguen will appear.
    • The Wild Maguen will display one of three different particle effects above its head. The color of this effect will correspond to the three different kinds of plasmas, which can be “collected” and applied to the player as a buff, using the Maguen Plasma Collection device. There is a large variety of plasma buffs.
    • The Wild Maguen will interact with only one randomly chosen party member. That player has 10 seconds to use the Maguen Plasma Collection device on the Wild Maguen. When the device is used, the player will receive a plasma buff. Plasma buffs can reach level three by collecting more plasma from more Wild Maguens. If a player gets to level 3 of a plasma buff, there is a random chance that will bestow a beneficial party-wide buff.
    • There is a random chance that the Plasma Collector will overload and remove all the Maguen Plasma Buffs that have been collected so far.
    • There is random chance that a player will receive the Maguen Pet while collecting Maguen Plasma’s.

    Attributes System Changes
    • A maximum of three different attributes can now be added to each piece of armor.
      • Of the six attributes available, there are 3 sets of opposing attributes:[Water-Fire];[Wind-Earth];[Divinity-Darkness]. When choosing your three attributes, they cannot come from an opposing set. For example, a single piece of armor cannot have bot Fire and Water attributes.
      • Attributes can be removed from weapons and armor through the Attribute Master Yin in Aden, and Attribute Master Yang in Rune, for a fee.
    • Attribute values have changed.
      • Attack attribute bonus has been decreased.
      • Defense attribute resistance has changed (when the defense attribute amount is higher than the attack attribute). For example, if an attacker's attribute value is 50, and the defense attribute value on a target is 100, the damage amount will be the same if the defense value was 50.

    Other Item Changes

    • New Life Stones have been added for use by players that are level 85.
      • Regular / Mid-Grade / High-Grade / Top-Grade Life Stone
      • Accessory-type Life Stone
    • The weight of Spirit Ore has been reduced to 0.
    • Inventory and Quest Inventory has changed so that a player's maximum item capacity for each inventory is separate. Now, players can carry 100 Quest Items without affecting or being affected by their regular inventory's item capacity.
    • During the augmentation process, the amount of required gemstones will be displayed in the augment window.
    • When using multiple Magic Accessories with the same Territory name, only 1 of these items' attribute bonuses will apply. They cannot be stacked.
    • D-Grade and C-Grade Soulshots and Blessed Spiritshots can now be purchased from NPCs in certain towns.
      • Please note that all of these shots are sold individually and not in bundles, unlike No-Grade shot sales.

    Interface

    New Emotes
    • New "Social Emotes" allow two players to participate in a dual emote. Players can now Exchange Bows, High Five each other, and perform a Couples Dance.
      • These actions are initiated when one player targets another player and clicks on the social action they wish to perform. The target player can then choose to Accept or Reject the action.
      • Slash commands can also be used to initiate the actions: /two-personbow, /hi-five, /coupledance.
      • When the distance between two characters is too far or too close, or there is an obstacle between them, the social actions may not be performed.
      • When one character is in the process of other actions, such a PvP, a siege, Olympiad, private store, workshop (manufacturing), riding a pet, or while in a transformation form, the social actions cannot be performed.
      • There is a new Reject Couple Actions option in the Game System \ Options menu. When checked, all Couple Action requests will automatically be declined.
    Community Window
    • Inside the in-game Community Window, a new Homepage tab has been added. Clicking on the links on this tab will open your web browser and take you to these pages on the official Lineage II website or forums. The links are:
      • Clan Recruitment Hall - a section on the forums where players can advertise and browse through clan listings and clan details in server-specific threads.
      • Latest News - a section on the website that will show you the most recent news-worthy items about the Lineage II game and community.
      • Account Services FAQ - a section on the website that lists and offers detailed information on all the account services that a player can purchase for their account.
    Other Interface Changes
    • Party Looting options can now be changed while in a party.
    • The process for registering a clan crest of alliance insignia has been updated: an additional UI window will open to allow the user to browse through their computer's file system for the file they need.
    • Screenshots are now placed in a Screenshots folder instead of in the System folder.
    • The mail system has been updated so that players can check their mail and open some letters while outside of Peace Zones. However, players may not send or receive mail with attached items while in a non-peace zone.

    Recommendation System

This new system gives players an additional XP rate bonus! It's a system based on "recommendations," which are like points. You can trade recommendations between yourself and other players to increase each others' recommendation level, and boost your XP rate!

    Summary

    • The more recommendations a player has, the bigger their XP bonus will be. The maximum is 50% XP bonus for 1 hour.
    • Players can extend the XP bonus' time or acquire more recommendations by visiting a Priest of Blessing NPC in any town.
    How to Earn Recommendations
    • 20 recommendations are automatically given to players upon their first login of the day.
    • They will receive an additional 10 recommendations to give out after 2 hours of being logged in, and 1 more recommendation to give out every hour after that.
    How to Use Recommendations
    • You cannot recommend yourself.
    • You can recommend the same player continuously without restarting or relogging the game.
    • You will receive an XP bonus from the recommendations you earn from other players (max 50%). The maximum recommendations a player can receive is 255.

    Bonus XP Time
    • The bonus XP time is 1 hour from the moment you log in.
    • When your 1 hour of bonus XP time expires, you will not have anymore XP boost effect, regardless of how many recommendations you have.
    Daily Initialization
    • Every day at 6:30am Central Time (CT):
      • The number of recommendations a player can give out will be reset to 0.
      • The XP bonus time will be reset to 1 hour.
        • It will not remove the Nevit's Sandglass effect
      • Each player will lose 20 of their own recommendations.
Example 1: PlayerA can give out 40 recommendations, and also has 40 recommendations for himself. He also has a XP bonus time of 0. After 6:30am CT, PlayerA will have 0 recommendations to give out, 20 remaining recommendations for himself, and 1 hour of XP bonus time.

Example 2: PlayerB can give out 1 recommendation, and has 21 recommendations himself, and a XP bonus time of 40 minutes. After 6:30am CT, PlayerB will have 0 recommendations to give out, 1 remaining recommendation for himself, and 1 hour of XP bonus time.

    Priest of Blessing
    • A Priest of Blessing will be placed in each town and sell two useful items: Nevit's Voice and Nevit's Sandglass.
    • Every item can only be purchased once every 20 hours, and is not tradable. This timer of 20 hours is shared between all characters on the same account.
    Nevit's Voice
    • Cost: 100,000 adena.
    • Stats: Raises your own recommendation level by 10.
    Nevit's Sandglass
    • This item grants you additional XP bonus time. If, say, you already have 30 minutes left on your daily recommendation XP bonus, which its counting down as long as you are logged in, you can purchase this item to pause ("maintain") that countdown. During this time, you can XP at the level your bonus was paused at.
    • Cost: depends on the player's XP level.
    • Stats: Maintains XP bonus time for 60, 90, 120, 150 or 180 minutes (this number is decided randomly as the item is purchased).
    • The item's effect is a buff, which will show up in the new Recommendation System UI window as "maintain".
    • Once the additional time runs out, your original XP bonus timer will begin counting down once again.
    • There is no re-use time on this item, however you cannot use a second Sandglass if you already have the Nevit's Sandlgass buff in effect.
    Character Level RangeNevit's Sandglass price
    Level 1-194,000 Adena
    Level 20-3930,000 Adena
    Level 40-51110,000 Adena
    Level 52-60310,000 Adena
    Level 61-75970,000 Adena
    Level 76-792,160,000 Adena
    Level 80-855,000,000 Adena

    Please Note
    • The chart above explains the boundaries between different level ranges. This is important when wanting to repurchase a Nevit's Sandglass after your character levels up.
    • The repurchase delay is set at 20 hours and this time is shared between all characters on the same account. However, if you level up in a way that goes from one level range to another level range (according to the chart above), the timer is 0. (See below for example.)
    • You can only use the Sandglass that matches your character's level. If you purchase a Nevit's Sandglass when you are level 79 (for example) and you have not used it yet when you level up to 80, you cannot use the Sandglass that you purchased prior to leveling up.
    • If your character dies or there is a subclass change, the Nevit's Sandglass buff will disappear.
    • If you teleport to an Olympiad arena or into an instance zone, Nevit's Sandglass buff will disappear.
    • The Nevit's Sandglass buff cannot be stolen with Steal Divinity.
    • The Recommendation System XP bonus stacks with the Vitality bonuses.
Repurchasing Example 1: PlayerA is level 63 and buys a Nevit's Sandglass. In less than 20 hours, they achieve level 64. PlayerA must continue to wait until the rest of the 20 hours counts down before they can purchase another Nevit's Sandglass.

Repurchasing Example 2: PlayerB is level 75 and buys a Nevit's Sandglass. In less than 20 hours, they achieve level 76. Because level 76 is in a different level range than the last Nevit's Sandglass they purchased, PlayerB may purchase a new Nevit's Sandglass right away, which will be tailored to their new level range.
